3rd Annual Global Fat Bike Summit Is Almost Here

summit logoThe 3rd Annual Global Fat Bike Summit is gaining momentum, with registration for both exhibitors and racers growing everyday. The Global Fat Bike Summit brings together dealers, consumers, land managers, fat bike manufacturers and media representatives for a weekend of product expos, demo rides, fat bike races, and educational seminars focused ultimately on developing land access for fat bikes. The event takes place in Ogden, UT, January 24-25, 2014.

Education seminars on Friday the 24th will focus on fat-bikes’ uniquely low environmental impact and the revenue potential generated by allowing fat-bike access to public lands. Land managers will also have the opportunity to see and ride fat-bikes for themselves. The seminars are free for land managers and $25 for everyone else. TRP will sponsor a 21+ welcome party on Friday night.

Land managers are encouraged to stay for Saturday’s expo, with takes place at Ogden’s beautiful Mt. Ogden Golf Course, framed by the majestic Wasatch mountain range. The expo, which is free and open to the public, will include demo rides, races and vendors from makers of fat bikes and gear showing off their latest products. Vendors such as Salsa Cycles, Surly Bikes, 45North, Borealis, TRP, and Bar Mitts will be in attendance. The golf course pro shop will be open to serve beer and food to keep attendees well fed and refreshed.

Complimenting the festive atmosphere of the expo, the event includes two races for enthusiast and experienced riders. Racers from Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, California, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota have already signed up and the race course has been decided. Ogden Mayor Mike Caldwell, himself a fat-bike rider described as “pretty fast,” has ridden the course and is enthused to have fat bike racing come to Ogden.

The Global Fat Bike Summit is educational and fun for anyone interested in fat-bikes, and this year’s Summit sets the bar high for future Summits. For more information and to register visit http://fatbikesummit.com.
